Save scans to local storage (PDF)
I would like to use the local storage as destination (PDF, not only as JPEG in Gallery). I'm using Android (7) and really miss this feature.

FredThis would be an amazing option, particularly being able to send different note types to different folders like you can do with cloud storage options. It would make the app compatible with every cloud service that offers an auto-upload feature.

OhadI would also really like that feature.
Not only is this a catch-all solution that will automatically allow the use of any cloud storage service even without dedicated integration effort (e.g. currently NextCloud isn't supported). It also allows using Syncthing, which isn't cloud-based at all and would be difficult to integrate otherwise. -

DenisI would also appreciate that feature.
I am using Google Drive as my Cloud Storage, but i am planning to switch to Synchthing. With this feature enabled I would have the freedom to choose the Service I want.
This would probably be pretty easy to implement as well. -

ELIZABETH TRAILThis is absolutely the next step. Right now the closest we can get is to take a screenshot and save to Google Photos on device. Or download from one of the selected cloud apps to the file system. Especially for those of us who don't have minute by minute cell coverage. It takes two or three extra steps to be sure of being able to view a note when needed. On top of that, I suggest a widget to display pages saved to the device. Example, files saved to device go by default to a "rocketbook" folder. Widget displays the most recent file with left and right arrows or scroll to page through.

NitinThe unavailability of network in remote areas demand this.

Jonas MergedJust saving to a folder on the smartphone should be an option when setting up destinations. No cloud drive, just a plain simple folder.
This should be simple to do and I would appreciate it, because I sync certain Folders of my smartphone to my Laptop and Tablet. -

Jonas MergedI would like a Local Folder Destination. This would be great for:
1) sync notes via Syncthing
2) the stuff that I need to keep on my phone only (shopping list)
3) save to external storage
4) a simple destination for testing
And possibly many more. -

RichardFor me this impacts the usability of the Rocketbook. I've got a lot of work that needs to go to custom locations that's not linked to any 'share' or public API accessible cloud storage. Right now it's easier for me to write it on normal paper and scan it with a conventional scanner and send it to the relevant destination than to do the rocketbook loops to try and send it to some cloud storage just to get it back to my device so that I can actually send it to the real device. This makes Rocketbook an amusement novelty for me that will not be replaced once it's gotten worn to much.

MiketBig “me too” for local storage of scans, so much is developed as “a piece at a time” and the ability to review multiple iterations was a thing I had been looking forward to using when I was gifted my rocketbook.. since I’m asking for stuff, I’ll go large, would a stack type organization ‘a ‘la procreate be possible? I find that very useful.
Not that I’m complaining, this thing is great! -

SavannI would actually like this to be the default. All PDFs get saved directly to internal storage in a directory that I specify. This would really help me with being able to sort out new documents (of many different types) that I need to review from old documents that I've put into a permanent home.

JohnMy work systems don't allow for any of the available options. If there was a local folder option, I could still use my rocket book for work (preferably also allowed the work account option, then that'll be even better).

JeremyI think a local folder would be a great option. Like some have said, my company phone doesn't let me sync to these cloud based servers. I have to take extra steps to save the note, which makes me wonder why I should use RocketBook?

MattI'd also like to vote for local sync via pdf. I use syncthing on my phone & laptops & file server.
Could also work for OwnCloud or NextCloud. Just save to your local folder and it all syncs. -

AndrewI have to use the competing app Scan TO text instead to get notes into my ObsidianMD vault. Please let me know if this is ever fixed .

MarcoFor business use, confidential content should not be uploaded to cloud storage, so save as PDF to local storage could be an option, to safely transfer it to computer via USB.

BodiePlease add this feature!!!! Sometimes we just need to view a scan on the local device!
When viewing scans, there is no way to download them to my phone/device. I can resend them to my destinations, or “Share” them, but it would really help if I could just download / save. My work around is to use “Share” and then select my Texting app and then text it to myself. Then I could save the image to my device from within the texting app. But that is just silly when the scan is right there on my device within the Rocketbook app.
Why don't I just view it in the Rocketbook app? Because I can't zoom/pan around the image. These are scans of whiteboards, often with small writing that cannot be read within the Rocketbook app. So, I have to jump through the hoops above, just to get the image on my device, so I can then zoom in to read the text.
Please add a way to Save / Download a scan to the local device directly.
