Exam/Test Answer sheets

I am a maths teacher in Australia. I have been experimenting with the lined pages pages to see if there is a way to digitise answers to tests and other assessments. There are a number of possible applications. For example I have found it is possible to set up a Multiple choice answer sheet wit question numbers where a student can write down their choice, form A to E. By having a line structure with 1 X X, for example, students can put their answer between the two X's which act as limiters.
When run through the OCR function the resulting text file can be imported into a spreadsheet and then cleaned up to leave just the number and the answer. From here it is a simple matter to have the answer sheet auto marked. If I had time I could probably cobble together a converter to take the text file and turn it into a csv then automate the upload of multiple files but your team could do it quicker.
Then there are the possibilities of other answer types. It would be great for remote learning.
