The current FAQ here: https://getrocketbook.com/apps/faq#!does-the-app-sync-across-devices states “The app currently does not sync across devices. If you'd like to use multiple devices, you'll need to set up your connections on each device.”
This seems like a feature that should be considered in order to keep multiple devices in sync and to be able to process scans to your destinations regardless of which device you’re working from.
Example - a phone & tablet used interchangeably to scan / upload notes... you may not want different destinations depending on the device you use, you may have scanned a page from your phone but be working from your tablet and need to send it to the desired destination.
This feature should be a set-up option to allow multiple device app sync in case some don’t want this capability.

RaulHad I known this was not a feature, I might have held up in buying my Rocketbook, this is like MVP functionality right here...

JSDefinite need this capability. If I were to lose a device where I scan, where would my notes go!!!

BrianI was pretty surprised that this wasn't already a feature - I got very confused when I signed in to Rocketbook on my second device and the destinations weren't set up. It really made me wonder what the point of signing in to Rocketbook is...

GaryI assumed that this was already a feature...was going to recommend this to my students but I guess I'll wait.

KatyYes! I came to the comments looking for this! It is such a useful app and book- being able to have functionality across devices just makes sense.

JustinI use my phone for scanning on the go, and then thought I would be able to utilize notes within app on iPad. I can still access them in iCloud, but I can't use the RB OCR to search all my notes due to this. My notes are very disorganized, which is why I bought into this system, only recently after learning of the text search ability. Now when I next upgrade phones, years worth of notes go poof, gone (at least in the app). Everything syncs nowadays. Please fix.

Mr Faisal AshfaqThis is a massive failure on the part of rocketbook, would not have bought if this was made clearer up front

Kerry BlakemanAdding my vote to be able to sync across multiple devices. I use my iPhone and iPad all the time and I thought this was a feature but just did not have it setup right. Agree that this should not be a difficult fix.

MichelPlease please please this feature should be on top of your list!

TomsterI agree with all of the comments below. Unfortunately I have a work only phone and a personal phone. When I put the app on my second phone I was disappointed to not see my destinations show up or my saved scans in history. I did a google search because I thought I had missed something... How could the smart people who came up with this amazing product not include sync in their apps?

Scott StaelgraeveApp sync across devices is necessary! I’m holding off purchasing Rocketbook for all my staff until this feature is available.
-

WayneYes please- would seem obvious in this day and age.
-

Troy CI didn’t realize sync capability didn’t exist when I purchased by Rocketbook. I use three devices: phone for work, iPad for work, and personal phone and would like to have my notes on all devices without scanning three separate times.

DanPLEASE enable this feature, using an ipad with an iphone it is difficult to remember when/where I scanned something. Also, upon obtaining a replacement phone, my entire history is gone!

JailynYes I agree. Just find out and I'm disappointed.

MichaelI want this too! Of course destinations can sync (like Evernote) but the word indexing is killer in the Rocketbook app. I’d like to have the collection synched on the app.

BillI'm actually a little shocked this isn't available. I installed the app on my iPad today to show my students how great it was, and my scan history and destination, and to my surprise - NOTHING THERE.

DiegoGlad I haven’t bought this yet. Thought syncing across devices was a no brainer. Not with RocketBook! I got the book as a gift and was looking to upgrade and by accessories. Glad I didn’t!

PetrThat's a VERY BAD JOKE that this basic feature is not present, what's the point of setting up an account then? I'm seriously disappointed..

DanielThe ability to search my notes is so useful and now I will lose it because I'm switching phones! Please let us transfer between phones.

Seth ChancyHelp me understand the logic in the lack of this feature? We have to log in on each device, how do they not sync
-

PaulI have today purchased my first Rocket Book Fusion. Great product but poor app to support it. Syncing across all devices is a basic requirement for users today. If I use Scanner Pro app I can send the scanned pages to multiple apps, email and cloud storage services. OCR capability is also available in 21 different languages.
So basically I have to use your notebook with a third party app to make it an effective tool that will sync with all of my devices. Your app needs updating ! -

Glen SansoucieWow, in today’s day of “the Cloud” this is just a basic piece of functionality that is assumed. I just bought one for my wife and one for me. I realize marketing wouldn’t want to make this lack of functionality public knowledge as they would lose potential sales, including mine.
So basically, the Rocketbook app is used for scanning documents only and not for managing them. Managing needs to be a function of one of their integrations apps then. -

Ralph WelzI've gotten a new smartphone and there seems no way to backup the old scans. So there is no way to migrate the old scans from the old phone to the new phone.
Please consider at least a local back up functionality for migration purposes.
Of course, storing the rocketbook scans to a cloud service is a kind of fallback backup, but the rocketbook app offers a kind of index search, a big plus for most of the user. Should be not so difficult to implement. -
26 Dec, '19
Ralph WelzAddendum:
I backed up the rocketbook data folders on my old phone and copied to the appropriate destination on the new phone, but of course this isn't working cause the app will probably use a SQLite database that cannot access by the user.
Unfortunately, the app therefore loses some of it's great potential!

TrevYes, OK syncing is not available, but so what?? Rocketbook supports half a dozen cloud apps, just sync with your cloud app instead :/
-
23 Jan, '20
Gary HealdI could not believe that this is not part of the functionality. It needs adding.
-
05 Feb, '20
ToddAs of this date there's still no destination synchronicity when the Rocketbook app is used/running on multiple devices. All settings should sync across devices. Please build this feature into a near-future rev. Otherwise, thank you for a very useful workflow and great Belen of analog and digital tech.

-

Mechelle ThomasJust purchased the notebook, pens, highlighters, etc. and did not realize the app did not sync with multiple devices until I tried to set up between my phone and tablet. This is very disappointing. May need to reconsider further committing to the product. I hope the developers add this feature.

DavePlease make this a real feature! I really like being able to use my phone to do the scans, but I like re-reading my notes on the ipad due to the bigger screen. The problem is, since the scan didn't originate on the ipad, the handwriting OCR search function doesn't work. And while I can go to my Dropbox and view my notes on my ipad, the Dropbox pdf reader doesn't recognize handwriting, so no searching there :-( Please make this happen! Turn a good product into a GREAT product!!

-
13 Dec, '20
ThomasThis is very sad, after using this app and notebooks for the past 2 years, now to find out that my new device can not access old notes through the app! That is unacceptable! I will no longer be using your equipment and software.
-
27 Dec, '20
AlanAre there any cloud destinations that have OCR search? One PRO to this lack of feature is hackers would have to hack your phone or pad to get your scans.
-
21 Jan
MattWow! 2021 and this is still not implemented! Going to start looking for another solution instead of Rocket books - if I’d know this issue before purchase, I’d have gone elsewhere.

CathyI'm very disappointed to learn that this feature isn't standard. I got a new phone and not only do I no longer have access to my old scans, but I also have to re-do the *entire setup,* including destinations and preferences. What's the point of creating an account, then?
